They will have work experience in (and/or academic qualifications relating to) studio art, fashion design and history, music or literature. They will have a strong interest in and knowledge of the current cultural production going on in our local community (art, music, etc.) While the role will be at first primarily dedicated to sales and customer service, it will also involve working on gallery and shop displays, light cleaning tasks, running errands or other tasks related to the daily functioning of a small business. The successful candidate would also contribute creatively to the promotion of the shop’s collaborative community of vendors that currently consists of fifteen island microbusinesses. This could take the form of crafting effective social media posts, updating web pages, serving as liaison with various local arts or business initiatives, etc. The ideal candidate will take a vested interest in promoting the business, since their own role and compensation will expand as the business continues to develop.
