Developing the Young Workforce Outer Hebrides

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is the Scottish Government’s strategy for youth employment - operating through strengthening links between businesses and education - better preparing young people for the world of work. The headline aim of the programme is to encourage and support more employers to engage directly with schools and colleges to recruit more young people and promote diversity in their workforce.

21 Regional Groups have been set up across Scotland to connect employers with education.

DYW Outer Hebrides works in partnership with employers, encouraging them to have an active role in influencing the Outer Hebrides education system.

Employers can help shape, educate and encourage the potential young workforce. Employers in turn benefit from the fresh perspective that young employees bring to the workplace.
